Local processes matter.
The building code is largely uniform. Everything on top of it is set jurisdiction by jurisdiction: intake requirements, which departments review, the windows each one publishes, and whatever the local ordinance adds. These are the three documented here in detail. The wider Texas record is on the Experience page.
Austin
The region's largest jurisdiction. Site plan first, live published review times, and a formal paid expedited program.
- Permitting and Development Center · 6310 Wilhelmina Delco Dr
Georgetown
Published review windows, a municipal electric utility, and a historic overlay that controls the schedule.
- Development Services · 406 W. Eighth St.
Round Rock
Publishes its own review-cycle performance. Heavy commercial finish-out volume and a strict one-permit system.
- Building Inspection · 301 W. Bagdad Ave, Suite 100

Working somewhere not listed?
We coordinate permitting and development approvals across municipalities and counties throughout Texas, and with TCEQ and TxDOT. We document these three jurisdictions in depth because that is what is useful to read. It is not the limit of where we work.
